Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines “calling” as "a particular course of action especially accompanied by conviction of divine influence."  It's a pulling, a deep yearning for your purpose.

 

When you look at the ocean, in all its vastness, you are drawn to it.  It beckons. Standing on the shore, there is a deep sense of peace.  As if, even in its great enormity, it will not swallow you whole but take you to where you need to go.  The call of God is much the same.  At times it seems too grand and impossible, yet you know if you're walking IN it, you are exactly where you are meant to be.
