The concept behind this collection is that the whole of creation is actively glorifying God, with every component adding a distinct "voice" to the chorus of praise.  Whether you take this literally or metaphorically, there is no contest that creation is a testament to God's craftsmanship.  You only need to look at the intricacies of a flower or the delight of a sunset to see their incredible detail. God is an artist, a pure creator.  The Psalms are fertile with examples of how creation displays His glory and sings back to him.
